To
register, sign off, or transfer a registration you need to go to one of the
19 district authorities of Vienna. You can do that in any district.
The
district authorities are open for all matters of registration from Monday
till Friday from 8:00 AM until 3:30 PM, and on Thursdays from 8:00 PM
until 5:30 PM. Should this not be possible for any reason you can evade
by going to the district authority of the 15th district, that is
open for you from Monday till Thursdays from 8:00 AM until 6:00 PM
and on Fridays from 8:00 AM until 3:30 PM
The
residential registration form is free and is available in the different
district authorities. You also have the possibility to
print out this form
in the Internet (you can also find the registration form at the tobacconist,
but have to pay for it).

For
registration you need:

A filled out residential registration form

Proof of identity, from which your first
and last name, as well as your family name before your first marriage, date
of birth, place of birth and your nationality emerges; e.g. passport or
identity card and birth certificate.

Foreign fellow citizens require a passport!
